Organic Benches

Seen at the Dutch Design Week 2012, organic benches and chairs from Ruben Thier. From plastic lumps, Ruben created benches and stools in the Organic Factory collection, named so after the waste of plastic that comes from production process in factories.

In just one week of production, one can see the actual amount of waste captured in furniture.

Overproduction is common. Ruben Thier created containers for under every extruder, so plastic is collected in stead of dripping on the floor. In this way, plastic becomes something instead of becoming just waste.
