Vanderbijl

Vanderbijl, a Dutch designer, specialises in re-design, and upcycling of vintage cars. His desk from a vintage Roll-Royce is acclaimed. Another passion of Stef van der Bijl (Deventer, The Netherlands 1981) is DJ-ing. In 2006/07, he re-designed an old VW van into a Dj-bus. In 2011, he presented his Lady of Luxury Bar.

Creating light out of existing but outdated products is another direction in his work. In 2006 and 2007, he designed a collection of re-styled antique Surgery Lamps called the ‘Surgery Light Collection’.

In September 2012, Stef Vanderbijl presented the Sew Me Collection, upcycled antique sewing machines into lamps dimly lit by the turning-table of the sewing machine.
